Meet the ADPO Executive Committee

The ADPO Executive Committee have been elected to represent all ADPO members. We aim to do this by focusing on the following areas:

1. Provide accredited training for you to up-skill
2. Yearly conference and regular events and webinars to learn, share and broaden your network
3. Lobbying for positive integration of data protection both in Ireland and across Europe.

This month we would like to introduce you to Tom Gilligan, Chair of the ADPO Events Sub-Committee.

Tom Gilligan

Tom is a data protection consultant and Managing Director of Gilligan Consulting Ltd. Tom advises clients in both the public and private sectors, both as an out-sourced data protection officer and providing subject matter expertise to in-house DPOs. Tom collaborates on larger projects with the team at Waystone Compliance Solutions Ltd.

Tom provides internal audit key function holder services (IA KFH) to occupational pension schemes, with Align Advisory. He is a Fellow of Chartered Accountants Ireland.

Tom has been working in the data protection area since 2008 and hold a number of data protection qualifications including Certified Data Protection Officer and CIPP/E. He is a member of the ADPO Executive Committee since 2021 and serves as Co-chair of the CEDPO DPO working group, whose mandate is to engage with the EDPB’s co-ordinated enforcement action on DPO’s.
