CEDPO side event at the ICDPPC in Brussels on 25 October

CEDPO is organising a side event at the 40th International Conference of Data Protection and Privacy Commissioners on 25 October in Brussels.

This side event, entitled "DPOs: Navigators for implementing the GDPR", will cover different aspects of the DPO's role in the GDPR, from being entrusted with a strategic role for the implementation of legal requirements, to hands-on activities such as designing a compliance programme or advising in privacy impact assessments. Positioning the DPO adequately is key to help an organization to reach its goals. The level of challenge increases for organisations with various establishments throughout various countries and different DPA requirements. How can we ensure that the DPO is available for business units but also to the data subject?

In keeping with the Commissioners Conference main theme, "Debating Ethics: Dignity and respect in data driven life", this event will also touch the DPO's moral and ethical challenges when dealing with inquiries of employees or with business related topics, such as trade secrets.

We invite you to insightful discussions and first-hand experiences from practitioners and regulators, such as Albine Vincent (Head of data protection officers department - CNIL) and Gabriela Krader (Corporate Data Protection Officer Deutsche Post DHL Group).

A prior registration for the event is not required. CEDPO would welcome though a prior message from interested parties to info@cedpo.eu who are planning to attend the event.

Date: Thursday 25 October - 16:10 - 17:30

Location: Brussels Radisson RED, Rue d'Idalie 35
