We are excited to announce that the 10th Annual National Data Protection Conference will take place on the 24th and 25th of January 2018.
Day 1 of the conference will take place at the Irish Computer Society’s headquarters in Ballsbridge where we will host six data protection workshops. With just 83 working days between the conference and the GDPR deadline, these workshops will quickly get you up to speed on key aspects of data protection before our main conference day, day 2, at Croke Park Conference Centre on the 25th.
Back by popular demand is Marie Murphy, Co Founder of FortPrivacy.ie. Marie delivered a half-day ‘Privacy by Design’ workshop at last year’s conference and based on the interest and feedback we received we have invited her back this year to deliver a full-day workshop on the topic.
Marie Murphy is a Data Protection operations expert with a special interest in “Privacy by Design”, who has delivered projects at every stage of the project lifecycle. She is an engineer with formal training in business process modelling and data protection law.
Marie’s background is in the communications and manufacturing sectors working for international corporations in Europe, Asia and North America. She brings her experience of international corporate culture and of delivering complex and diverse communications projects that spanned continents to data protection operations. Only this month Marie travelled to Tel Aviv to train 200 Israeli software engineers in privacy by design.
Privacy by Design helps companies embed data protection principles – including data security best practices – in order to deliver privacy-friendly systems and services. Through this workshop Marie will help you take a proactive approach to data protection.
This course is for anyone who wants to understand the key concepts behind Privacy by Design and how these are incorporated into the GDPR. Attendees will also get an overview of some practical tools and resources that can be used to apply the concepts in practice.
