Missing Maps

Missing Maps brings together volunteers to help build digital maps of areas around the globe which may be in crisis or vulnerable to disaster. Having accurate digital maps allows organisations to plan and respond better in emergencies. See for more information.

Concern Worldwide have been mapping flood prone areas in Haiti with Irish volunteers and are now collaborating with MSF to build maps of South Sudan in support of famine response work happening there.
This Missing Maps workshop will demonstrate how the digital mapping tool works, and allow attendees to take part by mapping features showing on satellite imagery from South Sudan. Contributing to these maps is an easy and fun way to support the work of organisations like Concern Worldwide and MSF. Following the workshop, attendees can continue to map online if they wish.
